Lee Craig is a partner in the Tampa, Florida, office of Butler Weihmuller Katz Craig LLP. More than 25 years ago he joined the firm as an associate. In due course he became a partner, then the managing partner, then a name partner. In that time the firm grew from a single office, in Tampa, to offices in Miami, Tallahassee, Mobile, Charlotte, Chicago, Philadelphia and Dallas.

Lee’s practice is coverage analysis and defense of matters arising from all manner of first party insurance. He has particular expertise in fraudulent claims and extra-contractual cases. He has tried cases to jury verdict in all three United States District Courts having jurisdiction in Florida, and many Florida Circuit Courts. He has been lead counsel on appeals to the U.S Courts of Appeals for the Eleventh and Fourth Circuits, the Florida Supreme Court and three Florida District Courts of Appeal. Lee Craig is AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.

Lee is a past Chair of the DRI Insurance Law Committee, for which he was honored to have received the Davis Carr Outstanding Committee Chair Award in 2010. He has served also as National Director on the DRI Board, been a member of the DRI law Institute, and Chair of the DRI Insurance Roundtable. Lee's other professional affiliations include the Florida Defense Lawyers Association and the Federal Bar Association.

Lee's abiding interests include baseball, big game angling, boxing, classical music, fine art, gambling, British history, jazz, literature, opera, photography, scuba diving, shoes and clothing.
