i have been a member of dri since the early 1990s. i started out doing products liability defense work at nutter mclennen & fish in boston. since relocating to vermont in 1992 i have become very active in the defense bar including serving as dri's state rep for vermont and as an officer of our three-state local defense organization known as the tri-state defense lawyers association (maine, nh, and vermont).
i focus my practice on general commercial litigation, ip litigation, and the defense of products liability, retail/premises liability, auto/truck liability, and personal injury claims. i have an active trial practice in the state and federal courts of vermont, massachusetts, and maine, and i have obtained defendant's verdicts for my clients 6 times in the last 4-5 years.
i have also served as an adjunct professor at vermont law school, where i co-tought the introduction to intellectual property law course.
i also serve on vermont's judicial nominating board, which screens applicants for vermont state judiciary.
lastly, i have a blog, called ip stone (www.theipstone.com), that focuses on developments in intellectual property law tailored for business readers, and i have authored numerous publications on vermont law, including contributing the vermont chapters to several 50-state compendiums, including dri's 50-state publication on products liability law.
