Richard D. Tucker, Esq. rdt@tuckerlawmaine.com Richard Tucker brings diverse, complementary skills and experience to his legal work for the clients of Tucker Law Group. Born in Waterville, Maine, Richard completed his undergraduate work in biology at St. Anselm College in 1979, graduating magna cum laude.

A graduate from St. Louis University School of Law, Richard also earned a Master of Health Administration degree from St. Louis University. Richard practiced medical malpractice defense litigation in Chicago, Illinois before moving to his native state of Maine in 1986. In Maine, Richard served as in-house counsel and workers' compensation administrator for Dexter Shoe Company before returning to private practice in 1988. Richard is the founder and managing partner of Tucker Law Group, an insurance defense firm started in 1993 and dedicated to the statewide representation of Maine insurers, employers, self-insureds and third-party administrators.

A frequent speaker on legal topics, Richard is a member of the Defense Research Institute and serves on the DRI Board of Directors as the Northeast Regional Director. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Maine State Bar Association, and the Penobscot County Bar Association, and belongs to the Eastern Maine Baseball Umpires Association where he has enjoyed a 10 year career as an amateur baseball umpire. Richard is admitted to the State and Federal Bar in Maine and Illinois.
