Kathy J. Maus is a partner at Butler. Kathy is a Partner and an Executive Committee Member practicing primarily out of the firm's Tallahassee office, active in the firm's bad faith, casualty and first and third party liability defense and insurance coverage practices. Kathy received her Bachelor of Science degree in Risk/Management & Insurance from Florida State University in 1986. She received her Doctor of Jurisprudence, with honors, from Florida State University in 1991. Prior to attending law school, Kathy served as a licensed Commercial Liability Claims Adjuster with a national insurance company.

Kathy is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer and a Florida Super lawyer in Insurance Coverage. She is licensed in the State of Florida and in each of Florida's three Federal District Courts within the Eleventh Circuit. She is also licensed in the 11th Circuit Court of Appeal and the United States Supreme Court. Her professional memberships include DRI, IADC (International Association of Defense Counsel), FDLA (Florida Defense Lawyer Association), TBA (Tallahassee Bar Association), ABOTA (American Board of Trial Advocates), William Stafford Inns of Court, and Tallahassee Women Lawyers.
