Philip W. Savrin, a partner with Freeman Mathis & Gary LLP in Atlanta, focuses his practice on Section 1983 litigation and insurance coverage law. Mr. Savrin has published annual surveys of Eleventh Circuit law in the Mercer Law Review. In 2007, he successfully represented a police officer in the U.S. Supreme Court, securing an 8-1 reversal of the denial of qualified immunity. An active DRI member, he is a past chair of DRI’s Governmental Liability Committee. Mr. Savrin is also a leader in the Federal Bar Association.

Philip W. Savrin is a partner with the law firm of Freeman Mathis & Gary LLP in Atlanta. He specializes in the areas of §1983 litigation and insurance coverage law. He regularly represents the interests of police officers and departments in the defense of Fourth Amendment claims, including searches and seizures and high-speed pursuits. Mr. Savrin has published annual surveys of Eleventh Circuit law in the Mercer Law Review. He is Chair of DRI’s Governmental Liability Committee and recently authored an amicus brief to the Supreme Court of Georgia on behalf of DRI’s Insurance Law Committee. Mr. Savrin is also active in the Federal Bar Association.
