Laura E. Proctor serves as Associate General Counsel over litigation for Louisiana Pacific Corporation in Nashville, Tennessee, where she has responsibility for managing all aspects of the company's litigation. She also serves as the company’s Director of Compliance. She has practiced law for 25 years. She clerked for United States District Judge Ira Dement for the Middle District of Alabama and then spent the first 13 years in private practice in Alabama. She is a member of both the Alabama and Tennessee Bar.

Ms. Proctor is an active member of DRI, the largest organizations of civil defense lawyers, where she currently serves as its Immediate Past President. She serve as its president in 2015/2016 and was the organization first corporate counsel president and as its third female president. Ms. Proctor served on DRI's Executive Committee from 2010- present and on its Board of Directors as a National Director from 2007-2010. She is active in several DRI committees including DRI's Corporate Counsel Committee of which she is a founding member. In addition to her involvement with DRI, Ms. Proctor is also a member of International Association of Defense Counsel, where she served on the Corporate Counsel College Advisory Board and the Tennessee Defense Lawyers Association. She also serves on Presidents Cabinet for the University of Alabama; the board of directors for the University of Alabama Law School Foundation and board of directors of The Oasis Center in Nashville Tennessee.
Proctor is a graduate of the University of Alabama and earned her J.D. in 1992 at the University of Alabama, School of Law.
