Bob Massie is a partner in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough’s West Virginia office. He has more than 22 years experience handling some the largest and most complex litigation in West Virginia. He has handled and tried cases throughout West Virginia in both state and federal courts and has also been retained by several large clients to handle significant litigation in Kentucky, Ohio, Texas, and Indiana. He primarily practices in the areas of toxic tort litigation, railroad litigation, transportation and trucking law, insurance defense, bad faith litigation, and product liability. He has also handled appeals before the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia and the United States Supreme Court. He served as president of the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia in 2007-2008 and serves on several committees in that organization. He is a member of DRI currently serving on the DRI Judicial Task Force and is the State Representative for West Virginia. He is also a member of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel and the Cabell County Bar Association. A native West Virginian, Mr. Massie earned his Juris Doctor in 1991 from the West Virginia University College of Law. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, magna cum laude, from Marshall University in 1987.
