John R. Kouris is the Executive DirectorEmeritus of DRI, he has been with DRI since 1998. Mr. Kouris is also the Secretary–Treasurer of the National Foundation for Judicial Excellence, which conducts judicial education for the nation’s state appellate and supreme court judges. Prior to coming to DRI, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. He is a former trial lawyer. As his avocation, Mr. Kouris was a football official for the Big Ten Conference for 25 years. He is a graduate of the Loyola University School of Law, Chicago, IL, J.D. and Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, MI.
