ms. carter is an av rated attorney. she has been a trial lawyer for more than 24 years and has secured winning outcomes for her corporate clients in plaintiff and defense litigation, including commercial, insurance, employment, insurance coverage and bad faith and multi-party tort litigation.

ms. carter succeeded in obtaining dismissals of the claims brought against her manufacturer clients in asbestos and lung cancer cases. she secured relief in pre-suit negotiations in sexual harassment and race discrimination claims. she has extensive experience defending her clients in wrongful death cases, survival action matters and failure to warn claims. she has represented corporations and individuals in litigation including business litigation, commercial matters, product liability, toxic exposure cases and employer practices liability claims. ms. carter participated in the defense of a drug care facility sued for alleged negligence in a wrongful death case. after ms. carter filed for summary judgment on behalf of the company, the plaintiffs settled the suit for a minimal sum.

she has represented defendants as national trial counsel including automotive manufactures, employers, school systems, small businesses, insurers/insured and construction firms. she defended major automobile manufacturers against claims of product defect, failure to warn, ignition switch defect claims and deceptive trade practices and obtained summary judgment dismissals for her clients. she has served as counsel in cases in asbestos containing brake linings and has defended her clients in catastrophic injury cases. in more than 20 years, she has handled matters in various arenas including automotive, general transportation, train accidents, construction, medical device, toxic tort, recreational products, and food products. pam has successfully managed dockets of mass tort cases, and obtained dismissals without payment in the earliest stages of litigation. she has successfully resolved more than 90 percent of the cases mediated on behalf of her clients. in addition to her litigation experience, ms. carter is routinely called upon to provide advice to clients regarding bad faith claims, coverage issues and policy matters. ms. carter conducts training and workshops for management-level employees regarding employment issues.

ms. carter is a native of new orleans and is actively involved in her community and is a member of the greater new orleans chamber of commerce. she has been recognized by new orleans city business as city business leader in the law. she has also been awarded by the ywca as an outstanding leader and woman of achievement. ms. carter is regularly involved in the community as a volunteer with her son’s nonprofit organization www.mybrotherskeepernewman as well as several associations and committees.

pam works to improve the legal profession through her local and national commitment to diversity in the legal profession. she chairs the dri diversity committee and served as editor for the diversity publications for the aba and dri. through her efforts and in partnership with corporate counsel throughout the nation she has coordinated the publication of many substantive articles, and she’s coordinated the publication of the dri diversity manual (first and second edition) and the 2015 publication of the dri diversity tool kit. she is also a frequent author and invited speaker for clm, dri, namwolf and the aba on various topics, including trial and insurance practice issues and diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. she graduated with honors from southern university law center and was the editor of the public defender, moot court board member and the executive director of the law review.
