Mary E. Sharp is an AV-rated attorney, and owner of the Sharp Law Firm, LLC, where she represents individual and corporate clients in trial and appellate proceedings. Mary is an experienced litigator, and has tried over 50 cases to verdict in the state and federal courts of South Carolina. She currently serves as a Municipal Court Judge for the City of Beaufort, and is a certified mediator.
Mary is currently Chair of the DRI ADR Committee, and President of the Charleston, SC Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). She also currently serves on the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Bar Foundation, and on the Board of Governors of the South Carolina Bar. Mary is a Past-President of the National Conference of Women's Bar Association, and a Past President of the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association. She is also a Past President of the Board of Lowcountry Legal Volunteers and a Past President of the Board of Friends of Caroline Hospice. In 2010, Mary was inducted as an Associate member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). In 2009, she was honored as one of ten South Carolina “Leaders in the Law,” by South Carolina Lawyer’s Weekly, in their inaugural year of presenting those awards. She has been named a South Carolina “Super Lawyer” in the field of civil litigation.
Mary is licensed to practice in South Carolina and North Carolina. She obtained her B.A. in Business Management from North Carolina State University in 1990, and her J.D. from the Wake Forest University School of Law, in 1993.
