Albert was born in Laredo, Texas on March 30, 1969 and is fluent in Spanish. Albert Attended St. Mary’s University School of Law (J.D., 1994) and the University of Texas at Austin (B.B.A., Accounting, 1991). He is licensed to practice in Texas (1994), the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Western Districts of Texas and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Albert is Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Albert is an active member of the San Antonio Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, Texas Association of Defense Counsel, Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and the Association for Trial Defense Attorneys. He is a Past Chair of the Board for St. David’s Episcopal School, past member of the St. Luke's Episcopal School Board, a Life Fellow with the Texas Bar Foundation, and former Director of the Texas Young Lawyers Association. He also served as a member of the Texas Criminal Pattern Jury Charge committee for the years 2009 - 2014. He has been recognized by Law & Politics as a “Texas Super Lawyer” for 2008 – 2016 and 2018 - 2020. Albert also enjoys managing his South Texas Family Ranch.
