Jim is involved in all areas of Wiggin and Dana’s litigation practice. He has significant experience in resolving complicated disputes through mediation, arbitration, and litigation. His practice includes representing clients in commercial disputes, product liability claims, complex personal injury matters, CUTPA, professional malpractice issues, tax appeals, and toxic torts. He counsels clients on risk mitigation, compliance, and business concerns. Jim will zealously represent his clients in all state and federal proceedings.

Jim currently serves on the DRI's Board of Directors (2019-Present). He was President of the Connecticut Defense (Civil) Lawyers Association (2012-2013) and was also Chairman of the CDLA Board of Directors (2013-14)

Jim is currently the Board Liaison and a Steering Committee Member DRI's Drug and Medical Device Committee. He is a Former Chair of DRI's Medical Liability and Health Law meeting and currently is the Vice-Chair of DRI's Philanthropic Activities Committee.

Jim is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, House of Delegates and the CBA's Legislative and Policy Review Committee. Past Officer and Board of Director of the New Haven County Bar Foundation. Member of the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys. Former Member of the Advisory Board of the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program.

Jim has contributed to numerous publications and lectures including presentations at DRI’s Annual Meeting, Connecticut Bar Association CLEs, New Haven County Bar Association CLEs, and Connecticut Hospital Association events. Jim has helped to prepare the Connecticut Health Lawyers Association’s “Connecticut Law Update”, contributed to the Connecticut Practice Series treatise Unfair Trade Practices, was a frequent guest instructor for Quinnipiac Law School's product liability seminar, and has Chaired multiple CDLA CLE programs.

Jim is the recipient of DRI's Lifetime Community Service Award (2018); CBA's Anthony DeMayo Pro Bono Award (2014); and Wiggin and Dana’s Pro Bono award for litigation work for Statewide Legal Services and New Haven Legal Assistance clients.
