Chris Christie joined Sirote & Permutt, P.C., in February 2019. Chris represents pension and other employee benefit plans in litigation and represented healthcare providers in False Claims Act matters. His experience includes insurance coverage, fraud and bad faith litigation. Many of the ERISA breach of fiduciary duty claims have involved business or stock valuations and ESOPs or other retirement plans.
Chris is a Fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel, has been since 2005 listed in The Best Lawyers in America, and was named a Top 50 Attorney in Alabama by Super Lawyers.
BEFORE SIROTE: Chris left Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP in January 2018 to run for Alabama Attorney General. At Bradley, he was Chair of the Insurance Litigation Group, a member of its Litigation, Healthcare and Employee Benefit Practice Groups, and was Co-chair of its Pro Bono Committee.
BEFORE BRADLEY: As a Peace Corps volunteer after graduate and law school, Chris taught at the University of Yaounde School of Law and Economics in Cameroon, West Africa. He clerked for the Honorable Seybourn H. Lynne, U.S. District Court, N.D. Ala.
BESIDES LAW: Chris serves or has served as a Teaching Director for Community Bible Study, an elder for Homewood Presbyterian Church, and as a Relief House Parent for John Croyle's Big Oak Ranch.
