CHRISTOPHER BROOKS GREENE
SR. VICE PRESIDENT AND CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
With almost 30 years of diversified insurance industry experience encompassing claims, litigation management, underwriting, agency management, regulatory affairs and corporate legal work product, Chris believes that diversified experience and focused business acumen is the key to success in leading an insurance company.
Headquartered in Greenville, SC, Chris joined Canal Insurance Company as its General Counsel in January 2009 and in June 2017 took on the additional role as the company's Chief Claims Officer. In November 2022 Chris was next promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Canal, where he has responsibility over the Claims, Underwriting, Risk Management, Product Management and Marketing Departments.
Previous to joining Canal, Chris served as General Counsel to a division of AIG. He has also served as Corporate Counsel to Progressive Insurance Company and as a Trial Attorney for a Birmingham, Alabama based law firm. A frequent lecturer on the topics of litigation management, bad faith, insurance compliance programs and enterprise risk management fundamentals, Chris is graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law, is admitted to several state and federal bars and is active in the Defense Research Institute, the Association of Corporate Counsel, Trucking Industry Defense Association, Claims and Litigation Management Alliance, and the American Bar Association.
