Monté is a litigator who seeks to protect his clients, whether defending them at trial, managing litigation, negotiating settlements, conducting investigations, or partnering with them to find ways to avoid future problems. His background as a former West Virginia State Trooper gives clients trust that issues will be thoroughly investigated and evaluated quickly and strategically. Monté collaborates with his clients long before litigation is a reality to protect them and fight for the best possible outcome. His efforts have proven successful in cases of energy disputes; police liability; state, county, or municipal liability; contract disputes; medical malpractice; first and third party bad faith; personal injury; products liability; and premises liability.

Monté is the Assistant General Litigation Practice Group Leader, a member of the firm's Energy Emergency Response Team, and a member of the Diversity and Recruiting Committees. He chairs the Litigation Training Committee which is responsible for identifying and carrying out all internal training of the litigation associates, as well as mentoring associates within the firm.
