Pepper, a native of Charleston, Mississippi, completed his undergraduate work at the University of Mississippi, where he received a B.B.A. He received his J.D. degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1989 and was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity. He practiced in Birmingham, Alabama, for 2 years representing title insurance companies and then moved to Jackson, Mississippi, in August, 1991, where his practice consisted mainly of general civil litigation. Pepper joined the firm in March of 1993 and practices mainly in the workers' compensation law division. He also works in the general liability division handling the defense of personal injury claims. Pepper has an AV ranking from Martindale Hubble. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Mississippi Bar Association, Defense Resource Institute, Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association, the Madison County Bar Association, and the Alabama Bar Association, as well as being the Past-President of the Madison County Association. He is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Mississippi and Alabama. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Law Alumni Chapter of the University of Mississippi School of Law. He has served as a faculty member for various seminars on workers' compensation including those sponsored by the National Business Institute, Lorman, Inc., and CISI. He is also an approved mediator for the Mississippi Bar’s Pilot Mediation Program for workers’ compensation cases. Pepper resides in Madison, MS with his teenage daughter, AnnaLee.
