Steven M. Siros is Chair of the Environmental Litigation Practice and Co-chair of the Environmental Workplace Health and Safety Practice. He is also a member of the firm’s Energy, Aviation and Aerospace, and Products Liability and Mass Tort Defense practice groups.
Mr. Siros focuses primarily on environmental and toxic tort matters. Corporations seek his counsel on complex CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, CWA, and CAA matters and cases involving toxic tort and natural resource damages. He counsels policyholders in insurance coverage disputes relating to environmental issues, advises on regulatory compliance issues, and assists clients on a variety of climate change and sustainability issues, including rulemaking proceedings relating to environmental issues. He also manages the environmental aspects of numerous real estate and corporate transactions and helps clients perform environmental compliance audits at facilities around the world. He has experience counseling clients on compliance issues pertaining to European Union Environmental, Health and Safety Directives, including but not limited to RoHS, WEEE, and REACH.
As a member of the Climate and Clean Technology Law practice group, Mr. Siros counsels clients on a variety of climate change and sustainability issues and assists corporations in implementing greenhouse gas emission reduction programs.
Since 2010, Chambers USA has recognized Mr. Siros as a leading environmental lawyer in Illinois. He is an AV Peer Review Rated attorney, Martindale-Hubbell’s highest peer recognition for ethical standards and legal ability.
Mr. Siros frequently speaks at environmental seminars and has written or co-authored numerous articles concerning environmental law. He is co-editor and frequent contributor to the firm’s Corporate Environmental Lawyer, a blog that covers breaking environmental, health and safety issues of interest to the corporate counsel community. He is a member of the Legislative Committee of the Chicago Bar Association’s Environmental Section and serves on the Climate Change Litigation Task Force. In 2017, Mr. Siros was recognized by the National Law Journal as an “Energy and Environmental Trailblazer.”
