Kami L. Holmes is in-house senior counsel for Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company in Grinnell, Iowa. Kami is responsible for managing litigation for Grinnell Mutual in Iowa and Wisconsin, drafting and negotiating contracts, and providing legal advice on a variety of corporate matters. Kami is currently a member of the DRI Corporate Counsel (C3) steering committee, serving as the Third Vice Chair. Kami is also a member of the Insurance Law committee and co-authored the Iowa chapter on “Writing a Reservation of Rights” Compendium. Kami also serves on the Iowa Defense Counsel Association (IDCA) Board of Directors and is the Chair for the IDCA Membership Committee as well as the Chair for the Skills Academy Committee. In addition to being a member of DRI, Kami is also a member of the Iowa State Bar Association, and the Iowa Defense Counsel Association. Kami also volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) and assists with the Iowa Legal Aid Volunteer Lawyers Project.
