Defense Wins
Member Bio
Liz focuses her practice on defending product manufacturers, suppliers, and installers in high-risk product liability and toxic tort cases. Her experience includes coordinating the nationwide defense efforts of a regional roofing and siding contractor in asbestos litigation, representing clients in all phases of discovery, arguing dispositive and pretrial motions, and handling appeals. Liz is also experienced in commercial litigation matters. She has successfully defended manufacturers from breach-of-contract claims and claims of violations of dealership protection laws. A native of northwestern North Dakota, Liz also assists clients in the agricultural and oil and gas industries with drafting and negotiating agreements essential to their business operations. Liz currently serves as a Young Lawyer Liaison to the Defense Research Institute’s Asbestos Medicine Committee, assisting in planning publications, national committee activities, and committee seminars.
Liz gained appellate experience as a judicial law clerk for Judge David Minge of the Minnesota Court of Appeals from 2006 to 2007. She received her Juris Doctorate magna cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law. While in law school, she served as an executive editor of the William Mitchell Law Review and coordinated and oversaw publication of Volume 32, Issue 1, dedicated to mental health law and psychology and the law. Elizabeth received her Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. She was named a USTFCCA Academic All-American in track & field and captained Concordia’s cross-country and track & field teams.
Liz’s community involvement includes providing legal advice to nonprofit organizations, serving on the board of directors of Norway House (a local nonprofit dedicated to preserving Norwegian heritage) and chairing Norway House’s Young Professionals committee. In 2013, Liz traveled to rural Guatemala to assist with the construction of infrastructure projects.
