Defense Wins
Member Bio
Kate Whitlock has spent her entire career defending people accused of not doing their jobs right. Kate works tirelessly to untangle complicated issues to protect her clients' reputations and livelihood. Her goal is to resolve disputes as promptly as possible so that her clients can get back to doing what they best – their work.
Professionals Kate has defended include lawyers, insurance professionals (claims handlers, brokers, agents, underwriters), accountants, architects & engineers, real estate professionals (agents and brokers, surveyors, inspectors, managers), educators (teachers, schools, Boards), and more.
Claims she has handled run the gamut from negligence to fraud to sexual misconduct to wrongful discharge.
Kate has tried more than 100 cases to jury verdict, bench decision, or final arbitrator award. Her advocacy in the appellate courts is equally notable and, in addition to appeals on her own cases, she is often hired after an unfavorable trial outcome to handle the appeal.
Kate is passionate about actively advancing the legal field and tackling emerging issues. She lectures and publishes articles regularly, serves in leadership roles with several national and international organizations, and mentors students to groom the next generation of trial lawyers.
Outside of her job, Kate enjoys spending time with her lawyer-husband of 35+ years, three grown non-lawyer children, and two dogs and working with senior citizens.
