Member Bio

Jamie Weiss focuses his litigation practice in the areas of higher education, complex business disputes, and departing employees. Jamie has represented clients as diverse as Fortune 500 companies, private universities, a manufacturer of carbon fiber composites, and a developer of K-12 educational software. That experience includes several cases where Jamie first-chaired successful arbitrations on behalf of his clients. Jamie successfully represented the Anti-Defamation League as amicus curiae in a landmark case before the Missouri Supreme Court involving juror misconduct. Jamie has also represented universities in suits brought by former students, businesses in cases involving departing employees and trade secrets, and individuals in suits alleging unfair competition and unfair trade practices.

Jamie received his B.A. from the University of Virginia and his J.D. from the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, where he was Order of the Coif and an Executive Articles Editor of the Washington University Law Review. Prior to law school, Jamie was the operations manager of a regional temporary staffing company operating in Virginia and North Carolina. A fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, the Washington Capitals, and all areas of trivia, Jamie won the 1990 Jeopardy! Teen Tournament championship. He and his wife live in the Triangle with their two sons.
