Member Bio
Michael represents clients in matters involving environmental law, environmental litigation, mass tort litigation, toxic tort litigation, regulatory compliance and product stewardship. He is also a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) accredited attorney for the preparation, presentation and prosecution of claims for veteran's benefits. As an Iraqi War veteran and former Air Force officer himself, Michael uses the discipline he learned from his service in the armed forces to help all of his clients, whether veterans or business owners, navigate their legal needs.
He has litigated nationally known cases related to chemical exposure and is experienced with complex litigation in both state and federal courts including the management, discovery and resolution of multi-party suits and claims. Michael uses his considerable technical and engineering experience to assist clients faced with emerging legal issues, including finding innovative solutions to environmental legal problems. He has considerable experience with CERCLA, CPSIA, the Lacey Act, Dodd-Frank's Conflict Mineral rules, REACH and California Prop. 65. Additionally, he guides clients through compliance with air admissions regulations and helps them obtain regulatory permits. Michael is the assistant editor of the firm’s Air Quality Letter.
His academic interests include the use and misuse of scientific research in litigation and environmental policy making.
