In 1993, I graduated from Loyola Law School located in Los Angeles, California. Prior to attending Loyola Law School, I received my B.A. degree from the University of California at Berkeley. I am a shareholder of Gaglione, Dolan & Kaplan. I am admitted to practice law in the courts of the State of California and in the Central District of the United States District Court. Prior to becoming an attorney, I worked as an accountant where I obtained experience in public accounting, including but not limited to performing audits, preparing financial statements and providing income tax services.

I am a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Jewish Big Brothers, Defense Research Institute and the Professional Liability Underwriting Society. I sit on two non-profit Board of Directors. My law practice is primarily devoted to the defense of professional malpractice claims, construction defect litigation and insurance coverage. I have spoken nationally to real estate professionals regarding loss prevention and how to best defend oneself against a professional malpractice claim. I have provided seminars to construction professionals to assist in dealing to the ever changing legal landscape for contractors in California.

My professional malpractice defense matters have involved claims against accountants, attorneys, process servers, property management firms, landscapers, engineers, real estate brokers, appraisers and home inspectors.

I also handle the defense of general contractors and subcontractors named in construction defect litigation. My practice also includes insurance coverage work, including but not limited to, drafting coverage opinions, reservation of rights and declination of coverage letters and defending insurers against bad faith complaints. My work also includes defending employers in employment practices litigation in the construction law

Firm Information

Gaglione & Dolan was formed on September 1, 1994. The founding shareholders, Claudia L. Gaglione and Robert T. Dolan were previously partners together in the law firm of Berman, Gaglione, Dolan & Tetreault. In 2001, Jeffrey Kaplan became a shareholder. Effective January 1, 2010, the Firm name was changed to Gaglione, Dolan & Kaplan. The Firm specializes in the area of professional malpractice and construction defect litigation, both from the defense and the coverage perspective.

The firm has three shareholders and seven associates. We take a very practical approach to the handling of legal matters. Generally, we attempt to quickly assess our client's potential liability. Thereafter, we work with the client and the claims professional to develop the most cost effective approach to extricate the client from the claim. We refrain from filing unnecessary motions and/or getting wrapped up in needless discovery battles unless these actions are going to assist us in extricating our client from the litigation. Our primary goal is always to expeditiously evaluate the claim such that we can demonstrate to plaintiff's counsel that he/she should extricate our client as quickly as possible from the litigation. We utilize our knowledge of the law and our expert resources to assist us in this regard.
