Russ M. Patane is a Shareholder in GRSLB&G's Litigation Department, and concentrates his practice in areas of Construction Litigation, Insurance Defense Litigation, and Products Liability/ Toxic Torts Litigation. Russ has successfully litigated numerous matters, from inception through trial, for a wide variety of clients in matters involving claims for construction defect, construction site accidents, premises liability, personal injury, toxic tort and products liability in both New Jersey and New York. He earned a Certified Litigation Management Professional (CLMP) designation from the CLM Litigation Management Institute in 2019.
Russ has expanded his practice to include the representation of owners, design professionals and contractors in matters arising from Sustainable Construction practices, and has spoken on the Legal Risks of Green Construction to professional trade organizations. Russ has been accredited as a LEED Green Associate by the Green Building Certification Institute.
Russ is a 1996 graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, and a 2006 graduate of Pace University School of Law. He is admitted to the bar of the States of New Jersey, New York and United States District Court, District of New Jersey. Russ is a member of the New Jersey and American Bar Associations, and a member of New Jersey Chapter of the US Green Building Council. Russ was selected as a "Rising Star"by the New Jersey Edition of Super Lawyers from 2013-2016, and has been rated AV Preeminent by his peers each year since 2017.
Prior to practicing law, Russ was a Junior High School Teacher and High School Football coach in the Lodi Public School System for 8 years. He currently serves on the Board of the Glen Rock Little League, is a member of the Glen Rock Jaycees (formerly President), formerly served as a Trustee of the Glen Rock Education Foundation and Glen Rock Little League. Russ currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Lower Bergen County.
