Michael K. Callahan is Assistant General Counsel-Litigation at Eversource Energy where he oversees litigation involving the Eversource companies in Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Hampshire. The litigation includes practice areas such as general liability, employment, environmental, commercial, consumer protection and real estate. He and his team of six lawyers and two paralegals handle approximately 80% of the company’s litigation through trial and appeal, if necessary. Michael is also frequently involved in internal company investigations. Prior to joining Eversource in 1997, Michael was in private practice in Boston. In 2006, he was appointed by the Supreme Judicial Court to the Massachusetts Board of Bar Examiners where he served for 10 years. He currently serves on the Steering Committee of DRI’s Corporate Counsel Committee and its Public Utility Task Force. Michael has also served as a member of the Board of Editors of the Massachusetts Law Review as well as a member of the Board of Directors of The New England Legal Foundation. Michael has spoken at various conferences throughout the country on topics including “Crisis Management”, “Negotiation and Settlement”, “Utility Litigation” and “Working Collaboratively with Outside Counsel”.
