INTRODUCTION
Kristen Stedman is a thoughtful decision-maker, with an iron resolve to accomplish any goal she elects to pursue. Kristen was born and raised in the Bay Area, California. She moved to Peoria, Illinois to attend Bradley University, a school she selected sight unseen. During college, she interned at Caterpillar's Mapleton, Illinois foundry, where the iron castings are poured for various Caterpillar engine blocks, and competed on the Bradley University women's golf team. After Peoria, Kristen moved to Beaverton, Oregon, without ever having visited the Portland area, to work for a local athletic footwear and apparel company. When Kristen decided to change her career path, she attended law school as an evening student, while maintaining her full-time job.

Growing up, Kristen was very close with her grandmother. Kristen's grandmother introduced her to tennis, a sport Kristen now plays religiously, and also suggested that Kristen someday become an attorney. Kristen still enjoys cooking some of her grandmother's famous recipes including lamb curry and banana walnut cake with butterscotch frosting. In her spare time, Kristen enjoys taking her dog, Penelope, swimming, and spending time with friends and family. She has competed in a few sprint triathlons these last few years, and can put together a decent game of backgammon.

PRACTICE & EXPERIENCE
Kristen practices civil litigation as an associate at Bodyfelt Mount LLP in Portland, Oregon. Before joining the firm in 2013, she worked as a staff attorney at another Portland law firm where she practiced commercial litigation. During law school, Kristen clerked with the Office of General Counsel at Portland State University and the general practice law firm that she later joined as an attorney. She also earned several honors and awards, including the Dean’s Scholarship (2008-2012), Terry Wilson Memorial Scholarship (2011), Thomas Tongue III Scholarship (2010), and Legal Writing Honors (2008).
