Brett defends primarily pharmaceutical and medical device companies in litigation involving mass tort, personal injury and wrongful death claims in state and federal courts across the United States. She has experience in all aspects of discovery, trial preparation, and trial practice including taking and defending depositions, motions practice, witness preparation, trial strategy development, and witness examinations at trial. She has experience serving as trial counsel for a global tobacco manufacturer in trials across the United States, from Massachusetts to the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Brett routinely publishes and presents regularly at continuing education seminars and on interactive webinars on issues pertinent to the defense of products cases. Following law school, she completed a fellowship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where she worked with epidemiologists and biostatisticians in evaluating and crafting public health legal policies.

Brett is a member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI), a national organization of civil defense lawyers, and currently serves as Second Vice Chair of the DRI Young Lawyers Committee and is an active member of the Drug and Medical Device and Product Liability Committees. In 2016, she was awarded the DRI Young Lawyers "Rookie of the Year" Award. She is also a member of the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers (GAWL) and the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association (GDLA).

In Atlanta, Brett serves as a member of the board of directors for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and is a barrister in the Lamar Inn of Court.
