Whitney Horak is a Partner in the Memphis, Tennessee office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. She focuses her practice on the representation of physicians, hospitals and long-term care providers in medical malpractice matters involving claims of abuse and neglect, negligence, violation of resident's rights, wrongful death and breach of contract; her practice also includes the defense of general negligence claims, catastrophic personal injury and property damage cases. Ms. Horak is a certified professional in health care risk management (CPHRM). She has created strategic risk management tools and arbitration training programs for long-term care facilities. Ms. Horak is a graduate of the inaugural class of the LTC Power Lawyers Program and has also served as a mentor in the program.

Prior to joining QPWB, she was an associate attorney at a regional law firm where she represented long term care facilities in general negligence and healthcare liability claims. She was recognized as “Best of the Bar” by the Memphis Business Journal.

Ms. Horak received her Juris Doctor cum laude from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in May 2013 and Bachelor of Professional Studies summa cum laude from the University of Memphis with a major in paralegal studies. She served as a notes editor for the University of Memphis Law Review, Vol. 43, a pupil in the Leo Bearman Sr. American Inns of Court, a student member of the Association of Women Attorneys, and a volunteer for Race Judicata 2011-2013. While in law school, she received the CALI Award for Academic Excellence in Civil Procedure II, Dean’s Award for Excellence: Best Oral Advocate for Legal Methods II, Top Ten Best Oral Advocates for the In-School Mock Trial Competition of 2013 and Best Notebook for the In-School Mock Trial Competition of 2012.

Ms. Horak is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and her application for license to practice law in Mississippi is pending. She is a member of the Memphis Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, and DRI.
