I am a Deputy County Attorney for the Douglas County Attorney's Office in Omaha, Nebraska. I practice in the Civil Division of the Office, defending Douglas County and its elected officials and administrators from civil suits ranging from simple tort and contract claims to complex employment and civil rights claims.
I've advised administrators and elected officials on employee discipline and other complex personnel issues, including ADA, FMLA, and Human Resources Investigations.
I have experience litigating employment issues, labor issues, ad valorem property valuation appeals, constitutional/civil rights issues, government and non-government contract and tort claims, and eminent domain.
I've successfully defended multi-million dollar property valuations and exemptions, and successfully defended clients against race, color, gender, age, disability, and national origin discrimination and retaliation claims, FMLA interference claims, complex labor contract disputes, and inmates’ rights lawsuits. I also have experience litigating and advising clients on controversial issues, including eminent domain, well-publicized, high-dollar personal injury cases, and public projects.
