She is an expert in polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) forensics, fate and transport. Her experience includes investigations of inadvertently-generated PCB congeners, critical reviews of fate, transport and bioaccumulation models, and forensic analyses at high profile sites. Dr. Hughes is well-versed in data analysis, including advanced statistical methods such as principal component analysis, and data visualization. She has performed site investigations and remediations for landfills, a former manufactured gas plant, gas transmission facilities, a glass manufacturing factory, and multiple Superfund sites.
