Ericka is a Partner concentrating in the fields of medical malpractice defense, nursing home litigation, and general liability. She has experience representing major metropolitan medical hospitals, physicians, dentists, nurses, home health attendants, and other health care professionals. Ericka has also been appointed to the Diversity + Inclusion Counsel of the prestigious American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA).
Ericka has been named one of the top rated Medical Malpractice attorneys by Super Lawyers magazine and she has been selected to the New York Metropolitan Rising Stars list for the years 2015-2019. Each year, no more than 2.5% of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor.
In 2019, she was selected as a member of the National Bar Association’s 40 Under 40- Nation’s Best Advocates. This award recognizes the nation’s top lawyers under 40 who demonstrate a wide range of high achievements, including in innovation, perception, leadership, legal and community involvement.
Ericka has published on topics including medical malpractice, risk management and litigation practice. Prior to beginning her legal career, she worked as a Registered Nurse in both the hospital and long-term care settings. In addition, she worked extensively as a Manager and Supervisor of numerous healthcare and long-term care facilities across the United States.
Prior to law school, Ericka earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Howard University and a Master of Public Health from Oregon Health and Sciences University. She received her J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law, where she served as President of the Health Law Society.
