Jared Hawk is an experienced trial attorney who handles cases involving product liability, mass torts, and commercial disputes. Jared represents designers, manufacturers, and sellers in product liability actions involving a diverse range of products, including metal slitting and processing equipment, presses, forklifts, recreational vehicles, welding rods, fire extinguishers, heating equipment and controllers, child car seats, tree stands, and electrical switches. He has extensive experience defending these claims on the merits, including serving as first chair in several trials, as well as implementing innovative defenses based on successor liability, idiosyncratic injury, and statutes of repose.
Jared also has significant experience handling complex commercial claims and serves as the leader of his firm's Force Majeure Litigation Team, where he guides a multi-disciplinary team of twenty-five experienced litigators to monitor and study trends, decisions, and laws relevant to force majeure and other contract-related doctrines.
Additionally, Jared has focused on the representation of exploration and production companies in the Marcellus and Utica Shale plays, including litigation involving bonus payments and royalties, lease invalidity claims, alleged property contamination and health effects from oil and gas drilling and production activities, and joint operating and other development agreements. Jared has acted as both trial and appellate counsel in these cases, many of which were class actions.
